NOT A VERY GOOD CHRISTMAS ;)-

Let me start with my job. Shortly after I arrived at the employment office our Director called for a staff meeting. So everybody went to the conference room and was wondering what's going on, though we already have some idea what the meeting would be.
To be brief, he basically was telling us that it's been so slow and we are on hiring freeze, no hiring , no interviews nothing to be licensed. Aside from the special projects that we are working on he would like us to work with other department. To be honest I am a bit scared because currently there is no secured job unless probably you have a government job. I don't mind working with other department because it's to my advantage too and beside this is not the right time to say no.
On the other hand, when I came home today I got 5 offline messages from my sister and one of the messages was " our dog died on Christmas day." We had dogs before way back in the Philippines but I was never attached to them but to these two dogs. Both these dogs are very tame. I was astonished when I visited my family last year because I was gone for 3 years but the dogs still remember me, isn't that amazing?
Anyway couple months ago my mom told me that sweety ( one of the dogs) was sick but mom told me that she will be alright. A month later, mom told me she's recovering and doing very well. On Christmas day she past away.
Let me tell you something about sweety, this dog love Christmas. She was probably trying to live until Christmas and then she rest in peace forever on December 25, 08. My sister told me that she feel bad for Milbyn ( other dog) because these two are inseparable. Milbyn was like her body guard, he follow sweety everywhere she goes ( she doesn't go that far). One time, there were 4 or 5 dogs who are trying to attacked sweety because she sneak out from our house. I and my other sibling saw it and we were scared to go out and get rid of those dogs. Milbyn came and rescued sweety. He will miss her and we will miss her too.

JUST POKE IT HONEY

Who says it's too late to buy Advent calendar chocolates? Not for me. I got my husband a big box of Godiva's advent calendar chocolates today and he love it. It's an assortment of solid white, milk chocolates and dark chocolates. There's 25 small doors in one box and each door has chocolate inside. Those numbers represent December 1 until Christmas day.
My husband was trying to rip the box and I told him to poke those small doors and eat those chocolates. It was really fun.
Godiva really makes very good chocolates. It's one of the finest chocolates in the whole world. They have an on going promotion, when you purchase $50.99 you will get $10.00 gift card, for $100.00 you will get $25.00 gift and for $150.00 you will get $40.00 gift card. I admit their chocolates are really expensive but I tell you it's worth it. So if you're thinking of buying gifts for your friends, relative, god children and co-workers buy them a Godiva, you can never go wrong with chocolates. If you have a friend that is a allergic with nuts, don't worry you can make a box for them with out nuts in it.
So everyone have a happy holiday.

LAYOFF WARNING SIGNS...

What happen to America? The economy here is getting bad, when will this end? Everything goes up but our salary. A lot of houses that are being foreclosed, many of the stores went bankrupt and tons of employees got laid off.

A lot of job seekers are looking for open position/s in where I'm working right now. To be honest, that really scares me. Every time I think of those people who unfortunately lost their job I couldn't avoid but to ask my self how safe is my job? And every time I think about that I say a little prayer to God and thank him for I have this wonderful job.

Please give 2 minutes or so to read this article, I believe this is a big help.

Stay one step ahead of a layoff by heeding these warning signs.

Internal Problems: Things You Control
Sometimes we ignore obvious signs that the other shoe is going to drop,
attributing negative signals to a bad phase that will quickly pass.
Unfortunately, ignoring these signs can threaten your job security.

Watch out if:
You Got a Bad Review or a Warning.
How was your last performance review? Did you get a decent raise? Were you
given any warnings or put on probation for anything? It's a bad sign if nothing
positive was said during your review.

Your Boss Looks over Your Shoulder.
Has your boss recently put you on a short leash, when he used to trust you
to work independently?
Maybe he's been giving you subtle warnings that your work is not up to snuff
even though you think otherwise, and he finally got tired of you missing his signals.

You Get the Cold Shoulder.
Do colleagues you used to eat lunch or talk with avoid you lately? Do they skirt discussions about future projects? Are you being left out of meetings you used to be part of? Think there's a reason?

External Problems: Management Changes Beyond Your Control
Keeping an eye on the company, its health and the ripple effects of
high-level decisions can clue you into the true status of your job security.
Be wary if:

You Get a New Boss.
For five years, you worked in harmony with your boss, who was suddenly replaced by a rattlesnake. This is no time to be complacent; prep for a job search before
you have to. Line up a reference from HR since the new boss probably won't give you a good one.
Management Makes Changes at the Top.
The company's leader and figurehead suddenly disappears, and the entire mood of
the company shifts. Long-time employees are heard grumbling and complaining
about the new direction. This can actually help you. Ask yourself: How do I
handle change? If you're averse to making a big move, you'll probably hate the new procedures that go along with the transition to a new leader. On the other hand, how will you handle the changes associated with getting a new
job? Will you find those challenges any easier? Weigh the consequences of both scenarios.

There Are Rumors of Restructuring or Layoffs.
Sometimes rumors carry a grain of truth. If there is talk about restructuring the
office, be prepared. If you don't do a full-out job search, at least dust
off your resume so if you're cut, you'll have that chore out of the way.

New Hires Don't Fit the Mold.
Sometimes a new colleague is hired who can
do no wrong with all of the managers but treats you and other employees like
dirt. If you've complained and documented your gripes but management doesn't
confront the bad apple, you must assess what this person Is doing to your
outlook on work. Sometimes morale can get so low that there's no choice but to
leave. Overall, it's important to know the difference
between something that truly threatens your job security and something that may
actually turn out to be a bad week or month.

If you're one of those people who got laid off please don't lose your hope and don't quit! Only losers know how to quit, you're not a quitter aren't you?

MY I-751 INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

We were scheduled for our I-751 interview on 10/23/08 at 8:30 am. We left our house early to give us enough time to find a parking space and be early for our interview. We are in the city of Hartford before 8:00 am but unfortunately we couldn't find the place. What a shame! we didn't have hard time finding the place when we applied for my AOS 3 years ago. It was 9:00 am and were still looking for the place and finally we found a gas station we stopped and asked for direction. After few turns we finally found the place and were more than an hour late. We still went inside and apologize to the receptionist for being late. He just told us " it's alright, no problem, please have a seat and somebody will call you." Two minutes later an officer called our name. She took us to her office and asked us to swear that we will tell the truth etc etc etc.

Our conversation:

Officer: I'm officer D. please let me know if you any have questions.

US: Thank you

Officer: May I see your passport?

Me: Sure and I handed my passport to her.

Officer: She was checking my passport and asked us for our IDs

US: We handed our photo ID to her.

Officer: Where are you from?

Me: I'm from the Philippines.

Officer: Are you still married?

Us: Yes.

Officer: Do you have any children?

Us: No.

Officer: How long you've been married?

Husband: More than 3 years

Officer: When did you get married?

Husband: Gave her the date

Officer: OK. Do you have proof of you relationship?

US: Yes, and I handed to her the copies of all our evidence.

Officer: Are you still working in _________?

Me: Yes

Officer: How about you Mr. _____ are you still employed in _________?

Husband: Yes and I am also a homeland security employee.

Officer: OK. Now Mrs. ______ Do you have any police charges against you? Felony or misdemeanor?

Me: No.

Officer: Was checking our papers again and told us that the papers are good and was asked me if I have my green card.

Me: I said Yes, it's already expired but I have an extension letter here with me. Do you still want it?

Officer: Yes, you don't need that anyway. I will stamped you passport and I will give you 6 months work authorization. It usually take six months before you get your actual card and if for some reason you will not get your green card within 6 months then you can come back here and request for an info pass and will stamp your passport again.

Me: I was listening to her but was really upset because it took them 11 months before they touched my case and on the top of it I have to wait six months for my actual card?grrr... but I kept my cool.

Officer: OK, I'll step out for a minute and make copy of these papers.

Me: You don't need to do that because those are copies I have the originals with me. Good thing I made copies of all the papers. It really helped us saved time because both me and hubby are still going to work.

Officer: Thank you for coming.

Us: Thank you so much officer...

We're thankful that the officer took us even though were more than an hour late. I hope I will get my actual green card soon.

IMMIGRATION 101 -- I751 INTERVIEW DATE

As stated in my previous post that I received an invitation letter from uscis last week 10/16/08 or 10/17/08. It basically says in the letter that me and my husband has to be there on 10/23/08 for our I-751 interview, great. I didn't see this coming at all. I thought for sure that they will not call me for an interview but unfortunately they did and I'm not very happy at all. I'm happy knowing that they finally look over my case but the interview portion really sucks. Lucky for those people who successfully removed the condition of their residency without going through an interview.

I made a copy of all the requirements needed on that day like...

1. Photos of me and hubby together and photos of me and hubby with friends.

2. Both 07 tax return, they actually ask for our tax return within the last 3 years.

3 . Receipt in both our names

4. Mails in both our names

5. Health/life insurance copy with my/his name as beneficiary

6. Joint account

7. Rent contract

8. Mortgage pre-approval letter

9. GC, B-cert, passport, appointment letter

I hope everything goes well for us this Thursday. I'm not nervous at all but I'm just annoyed with the situation.

Note: We already submitted the above mentioned papers but we'll bring them on Thursday, it's better safe than sorry.

I'll keep you posted on the outcome of this interview.. Keep us in your prayers.

LUST or LOVE

Alright everyone let's define Lust and Love. According to my friend WIKI, Lust is lecherousness a strong sexual desire and Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection..whatever.

I met this lady when I use to be a host and I like her because she's very open to me. I was on my way to the gym when I saw V_ and of course she gave me a hug and she was happy to see me and that she misses our conversation. I remember V, she goes to work with bruises on her forehead or on her arms and she told me that her bf hit her . To be honest her life is a big mess. Her and her bf was on and off, they've been called by the police few times because they fight like crazy. One time she filed a restraining order for her bf and she swore to me that she will never go back to him again but guess what? after a week they're together again, oh well what's new?
So like I said I saw her and we chit chat a little bit. I asked her how she's doing, and she told me " same old same old Mar, my ex bf ( same bf )want me back and he told me I still love you V_ _ _ in fact I want to make L_ _ _ with you tonight. " I was like No! that is not right, he just want to use you, he don't love you.
I told her to move on because I can tell that she still love the guy and it appears to me that the guy don't really love her. From listening to her stories before, the guy only need her if he wants to physically use her and when he needs money.
So I asked her, when was the last time he called you because he miss you without asking you to make L___ with him? She just told me never, every time he call me he was drunk and he wanted me to go to his apartment and you know what happen when she go there. I told her to open her big eyes and accept the fact that the guy only want her for pleasure, she's young and beautiful and that she will find a guy that will really love her not lust her. She just told me, I appreciate that you're concern about me Mar but I want to be honest with you I still love him and I don't really know what to do. It's so hard to say NO to a person you love. I told her I want to knock her down and hoping that she will forget the guy by the time she woke up. She just laugh at me as if I was joking when I wasn't.

HERE COMES WINTER

Winter is coming, It's getting chilly in our place. I'm getting ready for the winter, I have my extra moisturiser body lotion , my facial moisturiser, lip balm, heavy coat, winter boots, winter hat, gloves and what else uh! I have to buy an anti static lotion because I get a lot of static electricity when it's winter. I had tried our pharmacy here but they don't carry that type of lotion so I tried to search online and I found few but they always ask for my credit card number and I'm very reluctant to do that. If you get easily zap try to avoid clothing that are made of wool, knits and try to stay away from rugs...
Have you driven on snow? I haven't and that's one of my concern.

IMMIGRATION 101!

I filed my I-751 November of last year and to the people who doesn't know what that means, it's a process wherein you removed the condition of your residency. Anyway, I had a very bad morning to start with and became worst when I received a letter from USCIS. Like I said I filed November 07 and got a stupid response from the Immigration today October 15, 08. To be honest I am very upset of this whole immigration thing. The fee is so high and the processing is so slow! They gave immigrants such a hard time no wonder why there are millions of illegal alien in this country.
I didn't see this coming, I mean I thought it's the same bs you file for your I-751 then wait til they send you a biometric schedule and send you a 10 years gc. This is so stupid! I don't know if this is just a normal routine or there is a deeper reason why our attention was being called, wha! I don't really know.
They provide an 800 number and you will be lucky if you speak to a uscis representative who knows what they're doing. Guess what? I got the letter today 10/15/08 and our appointment is on 10/23/08 about a week from now, very incompetent people.
After reading my post you guys might say Kit get over it, that's how it is. And my say is that" I know but can there be a little changes? they change the fee every now an then it goes up and up so maybe it's time for them to improve their system and their performance for a change."

RENTING A TIME MACHINE

I checked my friendster account and I was viewing my sisters’ profile and I said to my self “ she is a grown up”. Eight years ago she was just a kid who don’t know how to put eye shadow, lipstick or lip gloss, eye browse and blush on. As I was looking at her photos I couldn’t resist but to sigh because I wasn’t there to watch her grow . Same feeling with my other siblings, when I went home last year to visit them I hardly recognize my only brother because he had changed a lot from a chubby boy to a masculine teen. There is not much changes with my other two sisters because they were grown up already when I left them. As I was typing this I couldn’t stop my tears “ God I miss family”.

After viewing the photos, I logged out and logged in again into my other account. When I was inside I was surprised seeing that I have pending invitation. So I clicked it and I found out it was one of my elementary classmates. I was so happy because she added me in her friendster account that means she still remember me. She was one of my close friends way back elementary. I viewed her photos and boy! she is still the sheddy, the cute little girl in 1987.

God! time goes by so fast, it feels like everything happened yesterday. I can still remember that I was sitting in row 1 grade 1 and was looking at the Grade six classrooms and said to my self I want to go inside that classroom but I still have 5 more years to go before that will happened , hey! that was 21 years ago.
If I could only rent a time machine I would be glad to go back to my past even for an hour. I want to see my little me, my cute little friends, and watch my siblings grow up. If I could only do that.

By the way I thought of sharing this photo, the VNCMCS 1993...

CROSSING THE ROAD

Ok, many people just take this for granted but how safe are you when you cross the road?
I took the employee bus right after work to go to the convention center for the job fair. Before we turn right I saw these two Chinese men trying to cross the road and then when it turns red the two Chinese guys ran to cross the road but the bus driver was turning and doesn't care if he will hit somebody or not and even yelled at them " look at the signal it's not blinking that means you can't cross the road yet!" To be honest, I feel bad for those 2 Chinese and I told the bus driver that they were in the pedestrian lane and even if the signal wasn't blinking for them to cross the road safely I think it's your initiative to let them pass because they were in the middle of the road anyway. He said " will they should have used the signal " then I told him not all people know how to use it," which is darn true. Yes, you can just press the red button and wait but not all people know how things work specially when you're new to the country. I know that those 2 guys are at fault too when something happen to them but what can you do?
Maybe the lesson to this situation is that, follow traffic rules, look around carefully before you cross the road. If you have computer at home you can search online what are the traffic rules, what should you know before going out or you can ask people whom you know. Remember traffic rules varies from state to state. I know most of the people here are afraid to hit somebody but hey there are some that don't care at all. You might think " yeah hit me and I will own your car and house" now my question is how can you own those things when you're dead ?

TIPS FOR BIDDING AN ITEM ONLINE ex. E-BAY,IOFFER ETC.

Why bid an item online? Bidding and winning an item online is really fun. You can also save gas and if your lucky you can get a brand name item for less. What are the things that you have to consider before bidding an item?

Tips for bidding an item:

1. Check the score 10 (%100)
It is very important that you check the score of the seller because it represents how many items they had sold since they started selling. I would suggest that you avoid bidding on an item when the seller has only bellow 10 score.

2. Read the feedback:
Make sure you read the sellers feedback and sellers feedback as a buyer. Don't go by the percentage of the seller because sometimes it will still show %100 feedback even though they had a dispute in the past wherein the seller and the buyer agreed to withdraw the bad feedback. Sometimes some buyers are satisfied with the item but not very happy with the shipping that's why they leave neutral feedback on the seller . Neutral feedback doesn't really affect the sellers ratings.

3.Read the description of the item you are bidding:
Read the description of the item carefully and most specially the words that are written in small letters. There are some sellers that sells cellphone and at the bottom of the description you will see a small printed message saying that this auction is for box only or picture only, obviously that's a scam remember Judge Judy show?

4. Don't give your credit card number:
I know Paypal screwed me in the past but I would still suggest that you pay through them using your credit card because if you are not satisfied with the item or you were being scammed by the seller you can always initiate a dispute against them.

5. Disputing an item:
You can always file a dispute through paypal but I strongly suggest that you contact your credit card company and file a dispute. Credit card companies favors the credit card holder so just keep any forms of evidences with you because sometimes there are sellers who tried to defend their selves hoping that they could get away with it.

6. Don't give any back up funding:
Make sure you don't give your bank account as your second source of funding.

Bid wisely.

ONE OF THOSE DAYS

I got up this morning rushing because I don't want to be late for work . So normal routine, got up, took a shower, dress up, ate my oatmeal, brushed my teeth, checked my face in the mirror, put a very light make up and off to work.
Wait a minute! rewind... I got up, took a shower, dress up .... stop! Alright, I feel like wearing a boots, off white top and a long skirt this morning. Since my skirt was too long so I was thinking to put on my top first then put on my boots and my skirt later before going to work for the meantime I decided to wear house shorts, slipper and socks.
Continue.... I ate my oatmeal, brushed my teeth, checked my face in the mirror, put a very light make up, took my purse, my exercising bag and ran to my car. As I was running to my car I felt very cold then I realize that I was only wearing my top, shorts, slipper and socks. I was upset to my self because I don't want to be late but on the other hand I just laugh for what had happened. So I rushed inside the house and put on my boots and my skirt really fast like a lightning LOL. I made it on time but I drove like a car racer.
p.s. We don't have a full length mirror.

MY OWN SIMPLE WAY OF LOSSING WEIGHT

I've been going to the gym for about a week now and so far so good. I'm very happy that I had lost 1lb since I started my work out, that's not bad. I am very determine to lose weight so I will try to work out right after work.

These are the things I do when I work out:

1. Stretching:

2. Leg exercise:
I use seated leg extension for at least 40-45 counts, I put 70 lbs weight on it.

3. Abdominal exercise:
I use Vertical Abdominal Crunch for at least 50-60 (20,20,20) counts, I put 45 lbs on it.
I also use Fitness Ab Crunch Machine for at least 50-60 (20,20,20) counts, I can only do 10 lbs.

4. Arm/ shoulder exercise:
I use the Shoulder press exercising machine , I can do 20-40 counts. I also do dumbbells ( 10lbs).

5. Treadmill or cross trainer:
I use both the treadmill and the cross trainer. I always start with the treadmill for at least 30 minutes and I usually burn 130 calories. Then I use the cross trainer and do it for about 10-15 minutes and burn 100-110 calories. It's always a good idea specially if you just started doing the work out to read the instruction. It should show how much calories should you burn according to your age.

You will feel muscle pain within your first 2 days of working out but you'll be fine. It really feels good after working out.

DO YOU STILL LOVE YOUR JOB?

Do you still love your job even if....

You have annoying co-workers:
Who feel that he/she is your boss, that he/she is always right, that he/she is so noisy that if your ears can shout they already did?

Who always watch what you're doing:
He/she is always there to watch every single mistakes you've done. He/she will make a big deal even if it's the most non sense thing in the world?

My answer is YES I do! I do love my job, I love what I'm doing and I couldn't care less of the people around me, hey there's no perfect situation. Friends, If you encounter those types of co-workers the best thing that you can do is to ignore them. Remember something, you're not there to be their best friends you're there because of work and if there are times that they get so annoying just remember your pay check, that will make your day.

Take care everyone.

TIME TO WORK OUT!

Before I took a shower this morning I thought of weighting my self. So I stepped on the bathroom scale and I was so surprised with what I saw. So I tried it again maybe it was a mistake and the same numbers showed up. I was really upset with my self because I know I'm gaining weight but I didn't do anything to lose or at least control not to gain weight - sigh-. I mean I'm not huge but I've never been like this before and I don't like it.
When I got to work this morning I saw people passing by with their gym outfit and without any hesitation I went to the front counter and registered. I'm going to start my work out tomorrow and I hope this will help.

When I was in the Philippines I used to walk a lot, I don't eat pizza at all, I seldom eat chocolates, eat ice cream or cake once in a while that's why I don't gain weight. Now, I always drive, eat pizza, eat chocolates everyday, eat ice cream or cake every so often that's why I gain weight, a lot too. I will try to lose some weight it might not be the same as before but at least not like this. I never expected I will expand like this. My parents used to worried because I was so thin as a tooth pick and now it's the other way around. So please watch what you eat people it's so easy to gain weight but very hard lose it.

HOW TO GET A JOB ( job fair)

Now a days it's so hard to get a job. Let's just say a company put a job fair ad in the news paper and they only need 10 people to work as guest receptionists for the new hotel. At least 50 people applied for the guest receptionists position and you are very eager to get the job , what should you do?

Here are easy tips on how to get a job:

1. Read the instructions:
When you hear the word job fair what comes into your mind? Correct, people
thought that they could just walk in, fill out an application and be interviewed. Some companies like ours when we hold a job fair we always do it by appointment, we DON'T take walk ins. We do not have paper applications anymore , everything is online now and people who are wishing to go to our job fairs they have to fill out an application in our website and set up an appointment 24 hours before the day of the fair. We are doing that to control the crowd and that's one way of pre screening the applicants. That's why it's very important to read the instructions carefully before going to a job fair.
2. Confirm your appointment:
When you're done filling out and application and set up an appointment online best thing to do is to call the Human Resources and confirm your appointment.
3. Dress to impress:
No matter what job you are applying for make sure you wear a business casual or business dress. The interviewer will also give you points on how you carry your self, the way you answer the questions , and the way you dress up. Do not wear Capri's, shorts, torn pants and flip flops. No baseball hats please.
4. Smile:
Interviewer always love to see people who always smile.
5. Be patient:
In most cases when you go to a job fair it usually takes longer than what you expected. Say for instance you were scheduled for 5 pm and it's almost 5:30 pm but the interviewer haven't gotten to you yet, don't start complaining instead be patient.
6. Say thank you:
After the interview don't forget to say thank you to the person who does the interview. One thing too, don't forget to ask for his/her business card and if you have a chance send a thank you e-mail to him/her.

I hope these tips help you people whose looking for a job.

WARNING E-BAY & PAYPAL USERS - UPDATE

I would suggest for you to read the first post before this.

As soon as Paypal closed my case I immediately contacted my credit card company and file a dispute against paypal. The next day when I checked my account online my credit card company credited me for the money that I had paid for the item I purchased. I didn't really get the whole amount of money because what happened was that time I have credits left in my paypal account so they took the money then charge the remaining balance to my credit card.
On August 20, 08 my credit card company contacted paypal and opened a dispute for charge back.
I then prepared all the evidences that I have, the envelope from the seller, confirmation receipt/number, and e-mails. I sent an e-mail again to the seller thru e-bay reminding him that the item arrived in Florida Unit on July 31, 08 and that he can go pick it up. Then I received an e-mail from the seller on September 03, 08 telling me that he told paypal to refund me which is of course it didn't happened I only got credited when I opened a dispute to my credit card company. In his e-mail he said he wanted to refund me and he was asking if where he can send the check and I told him to keep his money because I got credited from my credit card company. He also told me that he could careless about the item and I said to my self of course because the item you sent me was a junk.
This morning I decided to check my paypal account and I noticed that I don't have any open cases so I clicked the resolution center, click the " all closed cases" and paypal had closed the charge back case on September 09, 08 and they didn't even inform me.
I was curious to whether the seller had picked up the item or not so I checked the tracking number and guess what the package is still there.

BAKED PORK RIBS

Who said that pork ribs is for grill only? I and hubby had a wonderful dinner tonight. I had baked him a pork ribs and he loves it. The original plan was to grill the pork ribs but unfortunately we ran out of gas and it was too late to get a replacement. So what I did was put the ribs in the oven and baked it. My husband told me that " it was one of the tastiest pork ribs I've ever eaten, thank you."

What I did was marinate the pork ribs over night with soy sauce, adobo marinating sauce, black pepper, and chopped garlic.

When I placed it in the oven I sprinkled a little corn oil over the ribs. I made a sauce to add more taste to the pork ribs. I mixed water, soy sauce, and oyster sauce ( just enough for your pork) . When I noticed that the pork was almost done I sprinkled the sauce all over it and waited like 10 minutes and took it out from the oven.
You should try it one day.

We we're too hungry that we forgot to take a picture of it but it looks like this:

WARNING E-BAY & PAYPAL USERS

I had posted my experience in a forum, since I'm not allowed to attach links here I decided to copy paste the whole thing so that people who haven't read the story will be aware. If you are an e-bay and paypal users I would suggest that you give at least 5-10 minutes to read the story. You may encounter the same situation in the future atleast you know what to do next.. So here we go.....

Hi all,I just want to share this experience to you. I've been using e-bay for almost 3 years now and I bought few items from them and had no problem. I've been using pay pal to pay the items that I bought in e-bay because according to them Pay Pal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online.I bought an item on July 13, 08 and paid it right away thru pay pal the item was describe as brand new, never been used. I paid less than $100 for the item. I got the item on July 26, 08 and was very upset because the item was not brand new at all, you can see dirty finger prints on it, scrape etc. So I contacted the seller right away I told him that I am not happy with the purchase because the item is not as what he describe in his auction. I e-mailed him few times and didn’t hear from him so I decided to file a dispute to pay pal and then waited for few days and escalated the case. He then replied to me in one of my e-mails to him saying " if you don't like the item I'll be happy to refund you." And then e-bay sent me an e-mail that the seller requested for me to send back the item and he will refund me. So I sent the item back to the seller on July 29th and gave both pay pal and seller the tracking number. I had checked the tracking number a week after I sent the package and it says " Status: Arrival at unit, Your item arrived at 7:15 am on July 31,08". I was wondering why it's still in the unit when It's over a week now. I'm guessing what happened was the post man was trying to send it to the seller but then he wasn't home that is why they keep the package in the post office and wait till the guy come and pick up the item. On August 15, 08 pay pal sent me an e-mail saying that they needed more time to investigate the case and I was so surprised because on August 16, 08 pay pal sent me an e-mail again saying " They closed the case because I had given them an invalid tracking number and there is no confirmation of delivery that's why we can't give you a refund." I was furious! I sent them an e-mail telling them that I have the confirmation receipt/tracking number here with me from the USPS and as far as confirmation of delivery is concern the guy didn't want to pick up the item because he know full well that he was lying about his auction. Now, the guy has the money and I bet he's going to pick up the item soon now that the case is closed. And I check his name in Google and I was surprised because the guy has TV program in Florida. Pay pal gave me his phone number and e-mail address. At first I was thinking maybe somebody is using his name but Can’t be because the e-mail add in his sites and e-mail add in pay pal and e-bay is the same so that means it's the same person. I just give you a heads up people, I know e-bay is a nice place to shop but be extra careful specially when it's payment time. I thought I was covered with pay pal so called "buyers protection" but I wasn't, it's too bad.

Please read the update on the next post because this one is getting long....

THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM

"A discovery made by a kung fu obsessed American teen sends him on an adventure to China, where he joins up with a band of martial arts warriors in order to free the imprisoned Monkey King."

My husband told me about this movie called " The Forbidden Kingdom". So, we watched the movie tonight and boy we really enjoyed it. The combination of the two kungfu masters Jackie Chan and Jet Li was fantastic. The lightning effect was great, beautiful scenery and it was a very interesting story. The movie has great action sequences with a little bit of comedy, love story, adventure and drama. We only paid a dollar to rent this movie and it was more than worth it.
One of my favorite scenes in the movie was when Jackie was praying to rain in the dessert then few seconds you see drops of water and we thought for sure it was raindrops but it was Jet who stood up on the huge rock in front of Jackie and peed.

I LIED...YES I DID

My husband has 2 FT jobs. He got a federal job and he is under probation for a year, yes it's right for a year. On the other hand he is keeping his other ft job for now because he don't want to end up with no job, you know what I mean? Now he's on his 6 months and his second evaluation will be this coming December 08 and hopefully by then he will give up his other FT job.
I'm super happy for him because I know that getting a Federal job is one of his dreams and I'm worried because he only get 3 hours sleep in 5 days. I keep reminding him to take his vitamins because I don't want him to get sick.
Anyway the funny part was, funny for me at least. Last night I forgot to set the alarm clock and of course it didn't go off. Setting the alarm clock is very vital for him because he don't want to be screwed in his Federal job and considering the fact that he works 2 full time jobs and sleep for 3 hours only he still get up earlier than me. This time it's the other way around. I woke him up and told him Gags you need to get up or you will be late for work. Then he got up right away and I can see from his face that he wasn't happy at all. He was telling me that the alarm didn't go off. I was nervous I don't want him to get mad at me that's why I told him " no honey the alarm went off and you got up and shut it off and I don't know what happened, I don't know you went back to bed good thing I woke up before it's too late." And he was like " really? I got up and shut it off, you're kidding me." And of course I said no Hon I heard the alarm go off and I thought that you're getting ready for work. Then he told me "I must have been so tired then that I didn't know I did that." I said of course you're so tired you have 2 ft jobs and he just answered " yeah that's right".
O well I lied but it's a white lie ok LoL. I was nervous and was crackin up at the same time. I thought for sure I set the alarm clock but I guess I didn't, I'm sorry honey LoL.

PALM READING

I was a sickly teenager, I always ended up going to the hospital and quack doctor (binisaya). I even stopped 1 year in high school because the doctor said I have to stay home and get better.
We believe in both the medicine doctor and the quack doctor.

Going to a medicine doctor was getting so expensive that's why we decided to stick with a quack doctor. My mom sent me to Iligan city because my aunt told her that they have this very good quack doctor. So I stayed there for few months but there's no improvement. So I went back home tried different quack doctors and went to the hospital once in a while.
One day, someone told my mom about this old guy who was well known for being a good quack doctor. So we contacted the old man and was invited to go to our house to help me. After 3 days the old man came to our house and started his healing process. When he was done he told us that he will be back after a week.
2 days later I vomit like crazy till nothing left to throw up. I was dizzy, had trouble breathing and my father thought of sending me to the hospital but I said to him let me lie down for a minute and fell asleep. When I woke up I asked for food because I was starving to death. From that day I started gaining energy.
The old man came back to see me. He stared at me and told me " you will not need me." I said thank you because I feel very good. Before he left the house I don't know what came into my mind that I asked him if he knows how to read palms and he said " yes". So I showed him my hand and he told me "you will marry a guy who live very far away from here". I feel sad that time because I have this childhood sweet heart . Then next is my sister, she showed her hand to the old guy and he told her " you will marry twice because you will lose your first husband." We didn't take the old mans' palm reading seriously because for us nobody knows what the future will be . And that was the last time we ever saw the old man.
Before my brother in-law passed away , I remembered what the old man had told us. So I talked to my sister on the phone and asked her if she still remember the old man who read our palms when I was 13 and she was 12 years old and she said " yes". I told her that the old man said that I will marry a man who live far away from our home and here I am married to an American. Then I asked my sister if she still remember what the old man told him she answered " yes". She told me that " it's so hard for me seeing my husband very ill but I'm still hoping that one day he will get better" . BUT unfortunately After few months of fighting the cancer my brother in-law passed away.
Like I said I will tell you the whole story about how my brother in-law passed away. It's a very sad story but you will learn something from it.

DREAMING OF MY EX-BF...YIKES WEIRD.

Yes correct I've been dreaming of my ex-bf. Oops easy please it's not what you're thinking. Let me tell you a brief story about how we met. I met him when I was third year high school. He was a transferee and most of the girlalos in our campus have a crush on him because he has the looks, the height but brainless lol ( I'm just kidding about the brainless part). Anyway I didn't expect that he will like me because I'm not beautiful at all. Chubby face, flat nose and I have mouse teeth. He courted me and I said yes and tsadang! he's now my boyfriend and I'm his girl friend (yuckers high school).
After 3 months I broke up with him because I'm afraid to death with my mom. He told me M__ if you dump me I will stop going to this school and move back from where I came from. I said to my self duh! drama, I know he's just upset that's why he said that. So I sent him a letter on Friday telling him that we're over and bye. On Monday I got a letter from him saying bye to me and he's moving back to General Santos. In the letter he stated that he will be joining the army in the future and he will be back after 4 years to win me back. I wasn't really paying attention to his letter because c'mon we're just kiddos and I thought that the letter was a big joke.
Then one of his classmates confirmed that he moved back to General Santos. I was like what? I asked few of his former classmates if they happen to have his postal address and all of them answered no. His close friend told me that he has his telephone number and guess what I said no thank you I don't need that it's so expensive to make long distance phone call my baon is only 5 pesos LoL.
Four years had passed, a lot of things happened in my life and I totally forgot about him. One night I heard a noise outside our gate and I was so surprised because it was him on his army uniform. I asked him "why are you here" and he said " I'm here to win you back remember my letter to you?" I was like " Uh I forgot all about it.
Anyway, we're back again and this time he wants to marry me and I told him I'm not ready for marriage yet I'm only 19 years old. After few months he asked me again and I said no again. He said I hurt him so bad so he's leaving and will come back when I'm ready to marry him. I was hurt when he left me but hey what can I do, I'm not ready for marriage I just graduated my associate course and I'm planning to take up a Bachelor course. So I told him maybe I will be ready when I finish my second course.
He left right after new year of 2000 then 2001 I met my hubby. Years had passed I completed my Bachelors Degree then I decided to work in Dubai. I contacted my aunt to help me with the visa. I flew to Dubai as soon as I received my visa . My husband ( my boy friend then) followed me to Dubai and we both decided to get married.
Zooop! visa processing was so fast, I am in the united states. One time I chatted with my mom and she told that my ex-bf went to our house and was looking for me. Then I asked my mom " did you tell him that I'm married?" she said yes and he left the house without any words ( that was 2005).
Since last year I've been having this weird dreams, I always see him in my dreams crying and he was running after me and I am running away from him. I am wondering why I keep dreaming about him I don't even think of him and why is he appearing in my dreams ? I'm just scared because he is a soldier I don't know if something bad happen to him and he is giving me a sign? I don't know it's really weird. I keep asking my self is he in a very bad situation that's why he's crying in my dreams? is he still alive? is he asking me for help? I don't know.
I will ask my family in the Philippines if they have any news about him.
I will let you know...

PLAIN RUDE, NO GOOD.

I am a member of VJ forum. I'm not very active as I used to be. Tonight, before going to my bed I open the site just to check the new topics. Then I decided to create a new thread and the title was " How many VJ members are from the Philippines?".
The main purpose of my thread was to know how many Filipino are members of that said site and hopefully meet some of them in the future. But some of the members are plain rude.
I know it's a forum and they can say whatever they want to say but at least
they should show some respect and don't make fun of it. I just don't like the idea that people from other countries would make a statement that underestimate Filipino people, there's no need for that. Maybe not all but MOST of the Filipino people are smart, talented, and respectful.
Duh! I forgot, how can they show respect when they don't know how to respect themselves.
O well Just venting...
FILIPINO ROCKS!

I FEEL SORRY FOR THE OLD MAN.

An old man came to our office looking for a job. I asked him few things and to be honest I feel sorry for him. He is probably on his late 70's. He told me that he needed a job so bad because he has to pay his bills. I screen applicants but I don't have the authority to hire people it's all up to the specialist and to the departmental managers.
I have a big heart to people his age because for me they deserve to relax and enjoy life after working so hard when they were younger. I'm not saying that they don't have the capabilities to work, no not at all. I just wish that the cost of living here in the state is not that high, that the government will lower down the tax, that people will not worry too much about medical insurance, I just wish (sigh).
It breaks my heart every time I see older people scrubbing the tiled floor, vacuuming the carpet, mopping the floor and cleaning the bath room.
I wish them good luck!

REST IN PEACE

I didn't see this coming at all. A week after my brother in-law (Philippines) passed away one of my dearest friend which happened to be my Shift Manager died. I was in pain too much pain between the death of my brother in-law and the sudden death of my friend. I will named him Mr. R to respect his families' privacy.

He is my boss but he's very down to earth, have sense of humor, a good listener and everybodies friend. When I went to the wake I refused to go near his casket and say bye to him for the last time it's because I want to keep the memory of him laughing, having fun with my co-workers and not the memory of him in the coffin. There I saw his two lovely daughters and I regret that I didn't introduce my self to them. I don't want to see them crying in front of me. I was glad because I had a short conversation with some of Mr. Rs family.

Few weeks later I got a card with a beautiful message in it from one of Mr. Rs family and I was in tears reading it. I do appreciate the fact that they remember me.

My prayers are with you....

I will also share the story of my late brother in-law who unfortunately passed away because of blood cancer. When, where , and how ? I will post it next time....

SAPPHIRE FOR ME!

I am working in one of the largest casino in the whole world. I started as a restaurant host. I've been doing that job for a year and nine months. I met a lot of different people some were movie stars, singers, and most of all gamblers. That job was not easy, I feel like going to the hospital everyday.
Then I got promoted ( ye hey!), I am now working in Human Resources department. It's not perfect "you can't please everyone as they say" but the most important thing is that I love my job so much.
It was very busy at work this afternoon, too many applicants , too much things to do and I was exhausted. All of a sudden my manager hand me something when I checked it I was so happy because I saw my anniversary pin. When I got the pin in my hand I said to my self
" congratulations Didai". I'm so proud of my self.

This is my 1st year anniversary pin(work). A ruby star pin.

And this is my 2nd year anniversary pin (work). A sapphire star pin.

Those pins are not as expenssive as diamonds but for me they are priceless.

MONTHLY REMITTANCE

Nyay! As soon as I got my pay check this morning I went to the bank right away and cash it. It's padala time na naman. I've been using Vigo remittance for almost 3 years now and so far so good. Let me tell you a little bit about Vigo before I go ahead and continue how satisfied I am with them.

VIGO Remittance Corp. is one of the largest electronic funds transfer
companies in the US. We are a branded consumer financial services company with
20 years of experience in the most competitive US and international markets. We
are a low-cost, high-value provider to the consumer with superior service levels
and reach throughout the world. Vigo is capitalized for growth and we are
expanding across the globe.

Mission:
is to be recognized as the best international money transfer company in the
world serving immigrant populations with a special focus on the Latin American
and Caribbean regions by providing an efficient, value-added product at a
competitive price.

Like I said I've been using Vigo for almost 3 years now and I am very satisfied with them. I used western union before when sending money to PI but their transfer fee is way too high that's why I was so thankful when I heard about Vigo. They offer a flat rate of $10 if you want it into peso or $16 if you want it into dollar. They offer bank - bank transfer, home delivery, and pick up. You can never go wrong with Vigo.

p.s. I don't work for Vigo.

THE LIFE BEFORE YOUR EYES

Imaginative, impetuous and wild Diana (Evan Rachel Wood) can’t
wait for her adult life to begin. Whiling away the final days of high school in
the lush springtime, Diana tests her limits with sex and drugs as her more
conservative friend Maureen (Eva Amurri) watches with
concern. Then the two teens are involved in a Columbine-like shooting incident
at their school and are forced to make an impossible choice. Only one of them
can live...
15 years later Diana (Uma Thurman) is married and
has a daughter. A memorial service at her high school brings back old memories
and as past and present start to intertwine her husband and daughter become
increasingly absent and Diana finds her life slipping away.

I and my bana watched “ The life before your eyes” last night 09/06/08. Uma Thurman is one of those actresses that can really act. She played her part very well considering the fact that she’s been doing action films. One of the actresses that struck me was Gabrielle Brennan who played as Emma ( daughter of Diana). She is very talented for a girl her age.
About the movie, it’s very confusing the ending is not that good. When you watch the movie from the very beginning to the end you will ask your self “ What was the outcome of the movie? How did Diana survive from the shooting? Where is Maureen (Diana’s best friend)? What happened to the kid?”

I am a blogger now!

I've been wanting to make a blog since last year. I keep saying " I will start my blog tonight after work" but I keep forgetting because I have a lot of things going on in my mind like my work, house hunting, making paper works at home etc etc etc.

Tonight 09/04/08 Thursday at 8:23 pm I didn't even plan to start my blog but I did YEHEY!

Fipol english is not my mother tongue and I am not grammatically perfect. Please pardon me coz sometimes I mispweld some words and some times ME grammar is not correct. I know that you can check spelling but sometimes I'm just too lazy to do that lol.
Rock n roll!
