HOW TO GET A JOB ( job fair)

Now a days it's so hard to get a job. Let's just say a company put a job fair ad in the news paper and they only need 10 people to work as guest receptionists for the new hotel. At least 50 people applied for the guest receptionists position and you are very eager to get the job , what should you do?

Here are easy tips on how to get a job:

1. Read the instructions:
When you hear the word job fair what comes into your mind? Correct, people
thought that they could just walk in, fill out an application and be interviewed. Some companies like ours when we hold a job fair we always do it by appointment, we DON'T take walk ins. We do not have paper applications anymore , everything is online now and people who are wishing to go to our job fairs they have to fill out an application in our website and set up an appointment 24 hours before the day of the fair. We are doing that to control the crowd and that's one way of pre screening the applicants. That's why it's very important to read the instructions carefully before going to a job fair.
2. Confirm your appointment:
When you're done filling out and application and set up an appointment online best thing to do is to call the Human Resources and confirm your appointment.
3. Dress to impress:
No matter what job you are applying for make sure you wear a business casual or business dress. The interviewer will also give you points on how you carry your self, the way you answer the questions , and the way you dress up. Do not wear Capri's, shorts, torn pants and flip flops. No baseball hats please.
4. Smile:
Interviewer always love to see people who always smile.
5. Be patient:
In most cases when you go to a job fair it usually takes longer than what you expected. Say for instance you were scheduled for 5 pm and it's almost 5:30 pm but the interviewer haven't gotten to you yet, don't start complaining instead be patient.
6. Say thank you:
After the interview don't forget to say thank you to the person who does the interview. One thing too, don't forget to ask for his/her business card and if you have a chance send a thank you e-mail to him/her.

I hope these tips help you people whose looking for a job.
